Things Keeping Me Sane During Quarantine

My Morning Routine

I’m going to do a full blog post and Youtube video with step-by-step details of my morning routine, but let’s just say it includes coffee, journaling, vitamins, and more coffee.

Having this to look forward to everyday gets me out of bed and ready to take on my day.

Home Workouts

I’m already sitting on my ass way more than I was ever used to… so moving my body is KEY. A little booty or abs workout and a long afternoon walk makes all the difference.

Favorite At-Home Workouts

Melissa Wood Health

It’s a mix between yoga and pilates, no equipment needed. So good for long and lean muscles. You can download her workout plan on her website (she offers a 7 day free trial too!) and find her on Instagram and Youtube.

The Sculpt Society by Megan Roup

Dance cardio, mixed with booty-burning and arm-toning workouts. I’m obsessed!!!! Her app has so many different variations and workouts to choose from. Gets your heart rate going, and OMG you feel so sore the next day. You can also find her on Instagram!

Sami Clarke

My bestie! Follow her on Instagram for daily live sweat sesh’s or on Youtube for her quick but effective workouts!

@TrainWithDanny

One of my favorite people. My trainer outside of quarantine, and now in quarantine thanks to his live workouts on Instagram he does almost everyday.

Alo Moves

Offers online yoga, fitness, pilates and more. They’re also offering a free trial right now! You can download the app and follow on Instagram.

And those are just a few! However I will say that I’ve been resting A LOT more than I’m used to, and that’s okay. This time is weird and I think it’s best to just move your body in whatever way feels best to you.

Daily Walks

Now, I only recommend this if you live in an isolated neighborhood. I understand why some people may be against this… however, where I live I’m able to keep a distance from others, and I’m sorry but my mental health and sanity is very important to me so getting some fresh air is needed. I love doing this and listening to a podcast. It’s maybe my favorite time of day. Podcasts lately have been so good! Here are a few of my favorites:

Healthy Cooking

I’m also going to do a full blog post and video on this topic as well, showcasing some of my favorite quarantine meals I’ve been making and some yum healthy treats. But I will say I think it’s super important to get creative with your meals. It’s something to look forward to, and I always, always try and remind people that healthy does not need to be boring. Get weird. Get fancy. Try new things.

I’ll share one thing I’ve been loving for dinner and that’s BOWLS. I love roasting a bunch of veggies, and putting different things in the air fryer (cauliflower, chickpeas, tofu) and making a big healthy veggie bowl with cauliflower rice or quinoa. Then I add ALL the toppings: nori (seaweed), hummus or some kind of vegan dip, avocado, coconut aminos, and nuts and seeds.

Self-Care Nights

Been loving myself a nice salt bath, face mask, cup of tea type evening.

I got these amazing bath salts from a company called Detox Babe, and they have a ‘toxins’ and a ‘stress’ blend, and I’m obsessed. I listen to some good music, or a podcast, and put one of these masks on and just spa out.

FaceTime

Making time to FaceTime friends (putting it in the calendar when I can to make it seem like an actual coffee date) has been so beneficial for me to still keep those relationships strong, and have that human interaction everyday. Even picking up the phone and calling someone I haven’t gotten the chance to talk with much or in a long time is also a great idea.

Following People That Make Me Feel GOOD

And unfollowing people who don’t.  Sometimes this has nothing to do with them and everything to do with my own insecurities or gut feelings. It’s especially easy in these strange times to compare, and feel alone, or unproductive. Make sure the people who you’re following are making you feel inspired, or just entertained in a positive way.

Well, there ya have it. A few things keeping me sane, and I’m sure each week I’ll have more so let me know if you want me to keep sharing!

Hope all of you are staying healthy, safe, and sane…

xx
